Kathmandu. Kathmandu Spikers has successfully completed the talent hunt event held at Dasarath Stadium Covered Hall on Ashoj 21, 2081. The purpose of the event was to provide opportunities to local talented players by participating in the Spikers team.
The talent hunt event was completed under the active chairmanship of General Secretary of Nepal Volleyball Association Roshan Shrestha, Secretary Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Member of the association Anju Shrestha, ward president of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 26 Khyam Raj Tiwari and Head coach Jagdish Bhatta. Kathmandu women athletes participated enthusiastically in the event.
Ritika Bhatt who is 6.1 feet tall has been selected as the best player and winner of the talent hunt event. She will now join the Kathmandu Spikers team and represent the team in the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League EWVL.
Kathmandu Spikers representatives thanked all the players who participated in the talent hunt program. Kathmandu Spikers has expressed the belief that this event will contribute to bringing women’s sports to a higher level in Nepal.
Sudiksha Adhikari, COO of Kathmandu Spikers said, “Today’s talent hunt event has taken an important step towards the empowerment of women players in Nepali volleyball. We believe that identifying and promoting local talent is a strong foundation for the future. The participants have performed brilliantly and we are committed to providing such opportunities in the future as well.”
Kathmandu Spikers has said that it will continue the program in the upcoming seasons to increase the interest of the young generation towards the game of volleyball and to identify the best players of the future.
