Shikhar Insurance had a grand celebration for their 20th Anniversary. On the occasion of the anniversary, the company honored 11 employees who have been working for more than 20 years with a gold coin each and 34 employees who have been working with the company for more than 10 years with a 100 gram silver coin each.
The company has also been honoring the employees who have served the company for more than 10 years with silver coins every year in their Anniversary Celebration programs.
During its 20 years, the company has achieved various historical successes. Among which, Shikhar Insurance has succeeded in becoming the first insurance company to collect insurance fees from 100 million to more than 500 million in Nepali Non-Life Insurance Sector.
Shikhar Insurance has a market share of Approximately 14 percent in terms of insurance premiums. During this period, the company has paid claims of more than Rs. 20 billion. The company has been leading in the payment of claims even during various calamities. Also, more than one lakh claims have been paid during the period of 20 years.
Additionally, the company has a history of having provided dividends of 295 percent to its shareholders during these 20 years. Shikhar Insurance has also become the first insurance company to reach a paid-up capital of 2.5 billion without merger, the first insurance company to expand the network of more than 100 branches and develop more than 600 human resources in the insurance sector.
Shikhar Insurance has been honored with the title of Nepal’s Best Managed Insurance Company and Best Insurance Company 6 times in 20 years. Similarly, the company has been honored with the Corporate Excellence Award for Human Resource Development and by the Internal Revenue Department for paying the highest tax in the insurance sector, awarded as the best insurance company by the Government of Nepal for the payment of insurance claims for agriculture and crop insurance, and honored by the Nepal Reinsurance Company for providing the most profitable reinsurance.
