A Step Towards Bridging the Digital Divide

As part of the project, both schools received essential digital resources, including computers, smart boards, and internet connectivity, empowering them to integrate technology into their educational practices.

Shree Janapriya Basic School, which serves a larger student population, now benefits from an upgraded computer lab. Meanwhile, Shree Bhimadurbar Basic School, previously without any ICT infrastructure, inaugurated its first computer lab. Both schools are now

equipped with solar-powered systems to ensure uninterrupted learning, even during power outages.

Empowering the Community

In addition to benefiting students, the newly established Community Internet Access Centers at both schools will extend digital access to the wider community, fostering skills development and promoting inclusivity in education.

During the ceremony, Ward Chairperson Bhidhyapati Sharma emphasized the transformative impact of the initiative on rural education, while Social Activist Ganga Thapa ‘Bhikchu’ highlighted the long-term benefits of digital literacy for underprivileged communities. Bikram Shrestha, President of NIF, reinforced the organization’s commitment to advancing educational equity through technology.

This initiative sets the foundation for long-term educational growth and digital empowerment in Baglung. With robust strategic planning, including computer lab management and sustainable revenue generation, these schools are now equipped to offer quality education in the 21st century.
