International Conference on Fire Safety and Electronic Security Kicks Off in Nepal

Kathmandu : With the aim of promoting advanced technologies for fire risk reduction and electronic security in Nepal, the Asia Pacific Security Association (APSA) Nepal has inaugurated the “Fire Safety and Electronic Security International Conference 2025” today in Kathmandu.

The two-day event is being held at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbarmarg on April 6 and 7. The conference was officially inaugurated by the Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bhadhur Shahi Thakuri, as the chief guest.

High-level representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, all 753 local governments, as well as leading industrialists, business leaders, and experts in fire safety and electronic security are attending the conference.

Experts from 14 countries including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam present their papers during the conference. The event features panel discussions, technology exhibitions, and interactive sessions, offering attendees valuable insights into global innovations, best practices, and technological solutions.

Given the significant loss of life and property caused by fire incidents in Nepal each year, the organizers have emphasized the necessity and effectiveness of such international conferences. The program aims to enhance public awareness at the community level while also strengthening policy reform and the use of technology.

According to Mr. Suresh Shrestha, the Conference Director, this event marks an important milestone in advancing Nepal’s security policies. A key objective of the conference is to bring policymakers, experts, security personnel, and business professionals onto a common platform to foster collaboration, partnerships, and solutions.

It is expected that the conference will make a long-term contribution to the development of security technologies, fire risk reduction strategies, and electronic safety measures in Nepal.
