Kathmandu : In response to the indefinite nationwide public transport strike that commenced on June 2, 2025, in Nepal, inDrive has been actively supporting passengers by providing alternative transportation options. Our unique bidding model fundamentally redefines the relationship between passengers and drivers. Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms where the price is set by an algorithm, inDrive empowers users by giving them control over the fare negotiation, ensuring transparency and fairness. Passengers initiate the process by entering their desired destination and proposing a fare that they are willing to pay. This proposed fare is then sent out to nearby drivers, who can accept the fare, negotiate a different price, or decline the offer without any penalties. With our ‘Fair Price’ model we aim to challenge injustice in ride-hailing in Nepal and ensure our passengers get easy, affordable rides with transparent fare prices.

In addition to inDrive maintaining one of the lowest commissions in the market, we are also announcing additional support measures for drivers. We have introduced a 0% commission offer for car drivers during peak hours as part of our ongoing efforts to support driver earnings and promote fair conditions on the platform. We are also continuing to support motorcycle drivers with additional bonuses and are communicating this to them through the app. While this is not a passenger-side discount, it directly contributes to better ride availability and stable pricing during a critical time.
