KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank Limited has announced the application call for the new cohort of the Fellowship Program and Certificate Course under the Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE). The initiative, launched with the aim of promoting social entrepreneurship, invites individuals with a vision to drive positive social change through enterprise. According to the bank, Nepali citizens aged 18 years and above can apply online until November 13, 2025 (Kartik 28, 2082) at 11:59 pm.
Manoj Kumar Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank, said that this year, Nabil SSE has been aligned more closely with the goals of national development, poverty alleviation, and empowerment, with a special focus on marginalized and underprivileged communities. “Empowering social entrepreneurs has proven to be one of the most effective means to fulfill our commitment to national development,” he remarked. “Through Nabil SSE, we are strategically mobilizing available resources to reach underserved communities, foster financial innovation, and promote inclusive growth and job creation,” he added.
Under Nabil SSE, two distinct programs are conducted – the Fellowship Program and the Certificate Course. The bank has opened applications for the sixth cohort of the Fellowship Program, a six-month initiative run in collaboration with the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University.
The Fellowship Program is designed for social entrepreneurs working on startups or innovative ideas. Participants receive world-class training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to finance throughout the six-month journey. To date, 76 fellows have completed the program, resulting in the operation of 62 active enterprises across Nepal.
Similarly, the Certificate Course is being conducted across all seven provinces in collaboration with leading educational institutions. The three-month course provides foundational learning in social entrepreneurship.
It is currently being run in Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus in Koshi Province; Birgunj Public College and Monastic Secondary English Boarding School in Madhesh Province; Campion College in Bagmati Province; Kshitiz International College, Divya Jyoti Multiple Campus, and Kohalpur Model College in Lumbini Province; Surkhet Model College in Karnali Province; and Sudurpaschimanchal Academy in Sudurpaschim Province. The program aims to strengthen local economies through social entrepreneurship, and so far, 1,069 individuals have benefitted from the Certificate Course.
From this year onward, Nabil SSE will prioritize province-specific thematic areas. The focus sectors include high-value crops in Koshi; agro value chain in Madhesh; digital innovation and green enterprise development in Bagmati; community homestay and tourism promotion in Gandaki; agro value chain, religious tourism, and culture-based enterprises in Lumbini; mountain enterprise promotion including beekeeping, bamboo, and herbal products in Karnali; and rural tourism and livestock entrepreneurship in Sudurpaschim.
Applications for both the Fellowship and Certificate Courses can be submitted through the Nabil Bank website or Nabil SSE’s social media platforms. The bank considers Nabil SSE a cornerstone of its commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship that contributes to sustainable development. According to Nabil Bank, the initiative has so far supported the creation of over 17,000 employment opportunities nationwide.
