Kathmandu । Recognizing Pokhara as one of Nepal’s most important tourism destinations, Gorkha Brewery I Carlsberg Group, led a clean environment initiative during the 27th Pokhara Street Festival, in collaboration with the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) and Bhadrakali Waste Management Pvt. Ltd.
As a city renowned for its natural beauty and tourism appeal, maintaining cleanliness is essential to preserving Pokhara’s identity and enhancing the visitor experience. Large-scale public festivals generate significant waste, making sustainable and long-term waste, that requires management solutions to keep the city clean and welcoming.
For this initiative, Gorkha Brewery I Carlsberg Group Donated waste bins for bottles and cans, Recycle waste,and dry waste.That were placed throughout the lakeside area where the street festival was conducted. This encouraged cleaner practices. Bhadrakali Waste Management ensured professional collection and environmentally responsible processing of the waste generated, while REBAN actively engaged restaurants and bars to support consistent and cleaner practices.
Commenting on the initiative, Gorkha Brewery stated,
“Pokhara is one of the most pristine cities of Nepal that is loved by tourists and locals alike. This initiative to install waste collection bins reflects our continued to support a cleaner festival today and a cleaner Pokhara for the future.”
Beyond the festival, the initiative is designed as a long-term collaboration aimed at strengthening responsible waste practices, raising public awareness, and supporting sustainable tourism in Pokhara.
