Deepal Expanded Across Three Continents in just Three Years

Kathmandu । Electric vehicle brand Deepal, launched under Changan Automobile’s Shangri-La New Energy Strategy in mid-2022, has expanded its footprint across Asia, Europe and Africa within three years, marking one of the fastest global expansions by a new EV manufacturer.

When Deepal introduced its first model, the SL03, the brand entered a market dominated by established automakers and aggressive startups. Instead of relying on high-profile launches or bold claims, the company pursued a measured expansion strategy focused on product refinement and market readiness.

By the end of 2025, Deepal had secured a meaningful presence across three continents. Industry analysts note that the achievement is notable not only for its speed but also for the consistency with which the brand gained acceptance in diverse markets.

Deepal’s growth began in China, where the SL03 and later the S07 gained traction for offering premium-level refinement at accessible pricing. Strong domestic performance laid the foundation for international expansion, particularly into Europe, widely regarded as the world’s most competitive EV market.

In 2025, Deepal launched the S05 and S07 in several European countries. The models entered the market with full WLTP certification, region-specific ADAS calibration, and comfort-oriented engineering adapted to European driving conditions. Automotive reviewers described the vehicles as “surprisingly mature,” highlighting their design links to Turin, Italy, and positioning Deepal as a credible new player in the mid-size EV segment.

Parallel to its European entry, Deepal accelerated expansion into Africa and the Middle East through strategic partnerships. A key development came in October 2025, when Changan Automobile signed a global logistics and innovation agreement with JD Group. The partnership strengthened overseas supply chains, improved dealer support, and reduced delivery timelines, supporting the brand’s entry into emerging markets.

Company officials say the expansion has involved extensive cross-border collaboration, including engineering adaptations for different climates and the establishment of new distribution networks. Early customers in new markets have also played a role in building brand awareness through word-of-mouth promotion.

By late 2025, Deepal’s multi-continent presence had shifted from an unexpected outcome to a case study in disciplined global growth. In an EV industry often driven by aggressive marketing and futuristic claims, Deepal’s approach has underscored the impact of product-focused execution and steady market entry.

Within three years of its launch, Deepal has not only entered international markets but established itself as a growing global EV brand.
