Kathmandu – vivo has officially introduced OriginOS 7, its latest operating system designed to deliver a smoother, smarter and more personalized smartphone experience. Built around enhanced touch response, fluid motion and peak performance, OriginOS 7 is engineered to remain smooth even after six years of daily use.
At the heart of the new experience is Origin Workbench, which brings advanced multitasking to smartphones, alongside seamless cross-device connectivity and Jovi, vivo’s personal AI agent designed to help users manage tasks across connected devices.
Smarter and Smoother, Engineered for Peak Productivity
OriginOS 7 introduces the next-generation Origin Smooth Engine, featuring a redesigned architecture for graphics processing, memory management and system scheduling. Ultra-Core Computing dynamically allocates processing resources to maintain responsiveness during demanding activities such as gaming and multitasking. According to vivo, this reduces app cold-start time by 10% and improves app page switching by 11%.
Meanwhile, Memory Fusion improves memory management and reclamation, offering up to 25GB of additional storage on a 256GB device. Dual Rendering further improves rendering efficiency by 14.4%, enabling richer visuals and smoother system animations.
A More Natural Flow from Touch to Transition
With Origin Animation, interactions such as swipes, taps and transitions are designed around natural physics. Fluid Motion allows interface elements to stretch, bounce and respond dynamically to finger movement, while Spring Animation delivers consistent, physics-based motion across the system.
Together with Seamless Interaction, these features create smoother and more natural scrolling and transitions throughout the interface.
A New Approach to Multitasking
Origin Workbench enables users to manage up to five active applications within a unified workspace. This allows users to perform tasks such as exporting high-resolution videos while simultaneously referencing notes, browsing content and communicating in real time.
OriginOS 7 is also designed to maintain consistent performance over the long term. vivo has conducted a 72-month anti-aging test to validate the system’s ability to maintain responsive performance over six years of daily use.
Seamless Connectivity Across Devices
OriginOS 7 is designed to work naturally with devices users already own. Apple Watch can display notifications and sync workout and health data with the Origin Health app, while AirPods offer instant connectivity, battery information through Origin Island and Spatial Audio support.
Through vivo Office Kit, users can also connect iPad, Mac and Windows devices to hand off tasks, synchronize notes in real time and transfer files between screens. Files and photos stored in iCloud can also be accessed directly through vivo File Manager.
Jovi: A Personal AI Agent
OriginOS 7 introduces Jovi, your cross-device personal agent that proactively manages complex workflows between mobile and desktop environments.
Deeply integrated through vivo Office Kit, Jovi coordinates tasks across connected phones and PCs. A single command on the go & users can ask Jovi to retrieve a file from a connected computer, summarize key information and send the results directly to their smartphone.
Jovi can also handle scheduled tasks, such as compiling weekly reports or organizing files automatically. Snap Note converts photos of whiteboards, handwritten notes and presentation slides into editable, formatted documents.
To ensure transparency and user control, Jovi Security records autonomous actions and requires user authorization for key steps.
A More Personal Feel, with Every Interaction
The visual language of OriginOS 7 extends to deeply personal, tactile expression on the lock and home screens.
Wiggle Theme transforms personal photos into interactive liquid surfaces that ripple, compress, and rebound to the touch, while Glint Theme uses gyroscope sensing to cast realistic light and shadow across wallpapers as the device tilts.
With StickIt, users can create dynamic photo collages across the lock screen, home screen and Always-On Display. Pet Pals adds interactive companion themes that respond dynamically to device motion, charging states, music playback, and the progression of day into night.
Availability
OriginOS 7 Preview Program rollout began on September 21 for vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand, and Malaysia. It will subsequently be available on the X500 series and the new X Fold and V series.
