National Cyber Olympiad–2081, +2 Edition Successfully Concludes

Kathmandu: The first-ever +2 edition of the National Cyber Olympiad – 2081 has successfully concluded. Organized by Prashikshan, managed by Paila Creation, and title sponsored by Techspire College, the competition commenced with an orientation program on17th February  in Kathmandu. The final round and closing ceremony took place on 27th February at Russian House, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu.

Among the 24 competing teams, four +2 college teams advanced to the final round. Capital College and Research Center (CCRC) from Koteshwor, Kathmandu secured the first position. Kathmandu Model College, Bagbazar, claimed both the second and fourth positions, while College of Business Management, Dillibazar, achieved the third position.

The National Cyber Olympiad is an inter-school quiz competition focused on the field of information and communication technology (ICT). The competition aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in ICT through a competitive platform. This year’s edition saw the participation of 72 students from 24 higher secondary-level colleges in Kathmandu Valley. The competition featured multiple rounds, including General Knowledge, Curriculum-based Questions, Logical Reasoning, Multimedia, Defending, Gambling, and Gasping Rounds. It was conducted in three phases: Qualifying, Semifinals, and Final.

The closing ceremony at Russian House, Kamalpokhari was graced by Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, President of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Sakanush Vanyan, Deputy Director of Russian House, and Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya, Director of the IT Innovation Center, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University.

The winning team from Capital College and Research Center was awarded NPR 30,000 in cash, along with a trophy, medals, certificates, and various other prizes. The second, third, and fourth placed teams were also honored with trophies, medals, certificates, and other gifts.

The event was primarily sponsored by Techspire College, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, with additional support from Russian House, iMart, Himalayan Nectar Honey, Maharshi College, Foodmandu, Pathao, Junior Entrepreneurship Circle, INI Cinema, PCPS College, Motor Sewa, and Bazar Ko Chirfar, among others.

Focusing on enhancing ICT knowledge among students, the competition successfully provided a platform for participants to update and expand their expertise in the field. Expressing his gratitude to all stakeholders, Mr. Laxman Pokhrel, Founder President of Prashikshan, announced that the competition will be further refined and expanded to all seven provinces of Nepal in the coming year. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony by the winning team from Capital College and Research Center.
