Kathmandu : The much-anticipated debut of the BMW iX2 Electric SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) in Nepal marks an exciting step forward in BMW’s commitment to electrification. Laxmi Premium
Motors, the sole importer and dealer of BMW automobiles in Nepal, continues to lead the
premium mobility segment with the introduction of the all-electric BMW iX2. Designed to
combine bold styling with intelligent performance, the iX2 represents BMW’s next-generation
offering for drivers seeking both sustainability and dynamic driving pleasure.
BMW is expanding its electric lineup with the launch of the BMW iX2 eDrive20 (combined
energy consumption: 17.2 – 15.4 kWh/100 km according to). With a maximum output of 150
kW / 204 hp (with temporary boost) and a range of 430 to 475 kilometers (provisional values
according to WLTP), the BMW iX2 opens new possibilities in emission-free mobility. It serves
as an important addition to the premium compact SAV category, offering a perfect blend of
luxury, efficiency, and sportiness.
Zero-emission driving with optimal power consumption
As with all BMW electric vehicles, the new BMW iX2 is powered by fifth-generation BMW
eDrive technology. A highly integrated drive unit on the front axle generates an instantaneously
available torque of 250 Nm and allows the iX2 to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 8.6
seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 170 km/h. The high-voltage battery, with a
gross energy content of 66.5 kWh, is housed in the vehicle floor to optimize space and weight distribution. Together with the efficient electric motor, it ensures a highly competitive range and
power consumption.
Charging flexibility is a core strength of the iX2. The Combined Charging Unit allows AC
charging with up to 11 kW as standard. For faster turnaround, DC charging at up to 130 kW is
also supported. Thanks to smart thermal pre-conditioning and advanced charging software, the
iX2 optimizes both charging speed and battery longevity.
Complementing the dynamic driving experience are luxurious interior features such as Vernasca
leather seats in Mocha, a panoramic glass roof, automatic 2-zone air conditioning, and a 12-
speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system.
Advanced safety features including Dynamic Brake Control and Auto Hold
The BMW iX2 is equally advanced in safety and assistance systems. Equipped with airbags for
driver and passenger, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), electromechanical parking brake with
Auto Hold function, and an integrated braking system, it ensures high safety on every journey.
Drive-off Assistant, along with the Attentiveness Assistant, makes every drive more secure and
less stressful—whether in city traffic or on long highway routes.
Laxmi Premium Motors, operating from its state-of-the-art facility in Tinkune, Kathmandu,
currently offers a wide portfolio of BMW vehicles including the BMW X1, X2, X3, X4, X7,
iX1(BEV), iX3 (BEV), X5 (PHEV), 5 Series (PHEV), and 7 Series. With the introduction of the
BMW iX2, the brand further strengthens its footprint in Nepal’s premium electric mobility
market, setting new benchmarks in design, technology, and environmental responsibility.
