Kathmandu — BYD, together with its authorized distributor and local partner in Nepal, Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., has announced a contribution of NPR 70 million (7 crore) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support communities affected by the recent devastating floods in Rasuwa District and other impacted areas.
The contribution reflects the solidarity and commitment of BYD and Cimex toward the people of Nepal during this difficult time. The funds will be channeled through the Government of Nepal’s official mechanism for disaster relief and rehabilitation, administered by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The contribution will support the Government’s ongoing efforts in rescue, treatment, immediate relief, rehabilitation and the restoration of damaged infrastructure, helping affected families and communities recover and rebuild.
The recent floods have caused significant hardship in Rasuwa, a district that holds particular importance as a key gateway connecting Nepal and China. The region is also an important trade corridor and a vital route through which a significant number of BYD vehicles are imported into Nepal.
Speaking on the contribution, Mr. Liu Xueliang, Vice President of BYD Group and General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, said:
“We are deeply saddened by the devastation and hardship caused by the recent floods in Nepal. At this difficult time, our thoughts are with the affected families and communities, as well as the rescue teams and everyone working tirelessly on the ground.
BYD stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal. Together with our local partner Cimex, we hope that this contribution will support the Government’s relief and rehabilitation efforts and help affected communities recover and rebuild. Nepal has always demonstrated remarkable resilience, and we believe that through unity and collective effort, the affected communities will emerge stronger.”
Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, has been working closely with BYD to support the development of sustainable mobility in the country. Beyond their long-standing partnership in accelerating Nepal’s transition towards electric mobility, this contribution represents a shared commitment to stand with the country and its people in times of need.
The NPR 70 million contribution underscores the belief that recovery and rebuilding require collective action. BYD and Cimex extend their heartfelt support to all those affected by the disaster and remain hopeful for the swift recovery, rehabilitation and restoration of the affected communities.
