Kathmandu. Lumbini Lions have added firepower to their bowling attack for the upcoming Nepal Premier League with the signing of Barbadian left-arm fast bowler Ramon Simmonds. He is the fourth international player signed by the Lions.
At just 20 years old, Simmonds has already established himself in West Indies cricket. His impressive performances for the West Indies U-19 team, particularly in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, displayed his potential to become a standout pacer. Known for his left-arm pace, he has shown an exceptional ability to bowl under pressure, consistently challenging top-order batsmen with his sharp deliveries.
Simmonds expressed his excitement about joining the Lumbini Lions, stating, “Joining the Lumbini Lions for the Nepal Premier League is an exciting chapter in my career. I’ve heard so much about the passion for cricket in Nepal, and I can’t wait to see it for myself.”
Ishwar GC, Chairman of the Lumbini Lions, shared his enthusiasm for Simmonds’ signing, “We are excited to welcome Ramon Simmonds to the Lumbini Lions. We believe his bowling skill will be very important to us in the upcoming NPL, and his youthful spirit will inspire the whole team, especially our young players.”
Nepal Premier League 2024 is scheduled to start on November 30 and will continue until December 21.
