Kathmandu : Bangladesh’s pioneering figure in broadcast and visual graphics, SK Monowar Nahid, has once again brought pride to the nation on the international stage. He was recently honoured for his outstanding creative leadership in ‘Broadcast and Visual Graphics’ at the ‘Asian Business Iconic Award 2025’, held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The award ceremony took place on 27 June at the five-star Crystal Pashupati Hotel in Kathmandu. Nepal’s Minister of Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi, presented the prestigious award to Nahid. The event was graced by three former ministers of Nepal, current members of parliament, Md. Golam Faruk Majnu, Executive Director of the Asian Business Partnership Summit, and distinguished personalities from various South Asian countries.
This award marks a significant recognition of SK Monowar Nahid’s nearly two decades of professional contribution. He began his career in 2007 as a motion graphics designer at RTV, later playing a vital role in leading channels like Jamuna Television, Independent TV, and Channel 24. He introduced new dimensions to news broadcasting through real-time infographics, Augmented Reality (AR) technology, and innovative election graphics.
In 2016, Nahid earned his ‘Pro Viz Artist Designer’ certificate from Norway’s renowned software company Vizrt. In the same year, he received special honours from Adobe and Vizrt at the International Broadcasting Convention in the Netherlands — a proud moment for Bangladesh’s broadcast graphics industry.
In 2019, he became the first Bangladeshi to conduct professional training in Vizrt software at DBC News, a role that was previously handled exclusively by foreign trainers.
Alongside technology, Nahid’s contribution to education is remarkable. He teaches at Pathshala – South Asian Media Institute, nurturing the next generation of media professionals. His book “Creative Approaches in Television Broadcasting” has become highly popular among media students. He has also authored an acclaimed book on environmental awareness titled “Guardians of the Earth: Simple Steps for a Sustainable Future.”
His established company, Rudra FX, now successfully operates in countries like Portugal, the United States, and Dubai, creating new employment opportunities for many.
Previously, SK Monowar Nahid has received prestigious honours including the Sher-e-Bangla Star Award 2025, the Excellence in Success Award 2025, and the Index Media Star Performance Award 2018.
The ‘Asian Business Iconic Award 2025’ adds yet another milestone to his illustrious career. Beyond being just a broadcast graphics designer, SK Monowar Nahid today stands as an international creative ambassador and beacon of innovation, elevating Bangladesh’s media technology to the global stage.
